Signed, framed photo, 20 1/2"x 28". The Marquis de Lafayette was a French aristocrat serving in the French army who came to the US to fight on the side of the Americans in the Revolutionary War. In 1777, he fought heroically in the Battle of Brandywine in Pennsylvania. He was shot in the leg and went here, to Beckel House to recover. He went on to serve with distinction and the location is marked with a monument to him. The photo is numbered (2/5) and signed in 1975 by the photographer, Dr. Robert R. Anderson, respected as a teacher, graphic artist, photographer in the Twin Cities metro area. Estimated value=$200
