LOT 24 - The world's earliest identified printing advertisement medium came from China during the Song Dynasty (969-1269 CE); a copper printing plate was used to make a poster advertising sewing needles. This beautifully framed print of a Chinese poster advertisement appeared in about 1920 for Double Beauty MakeUp Products. These included toothpaste, foundation powder, face lotion, soap, cold cream, etc. The language is traditional Chinese. Interestingly, the products are reported to be made in Tokyo and Kyoto, Japan.
